At Lights of the World we believe that education is the key to elevate vulnerable populations from poverty. For decades the founders of our organization have supported schools and students in need. Institutions such as the College de La Salle in Burkina Faso, the Buena Muntu institute in Kananga, the ecole Therese Mbala in Kinshasa have received financial support for school fees, building funds, purchases of desks etc. Additionally, all children of age at the Lights of the World orphanage in Mumbambiro have their school fees and supplies paid yearly, and those graduating high school will be eligible for a scholarship. With the establishment of Lights of the World, these one-off contributions will be better coordinated to maximize their impact. People of goodwill with an interest in assisting young people into adulthood have an opportunity to be matched up with a specific child that they will be able to sponsor through their College or technical school education.
